Tennis Tips – Backhand ‘Power’ vs ‘Feel’

So in this drill I’m working on the two
different feels that I need for my backhand second shot. I’m working on my
power backhand which is a much straighter trajectory and then I’m
working on a feel shot so I’m working on my backhand angle and the backhand topspin lob which I use a lot more forearm for. So with the power shot you can
see the balls being fed at higher, sort of net high or above and I’m using my right
shoulder, bringing my right shoulder through, using a lot more body in the
shot and my sort of acceleration starts when I’m making contact with the ball
not too far before that and I’m hitting on a much straighter trajectory. With the
backhand angle or the backhand lob I am using a lot more forearm, brushing up the
back of the ball and again still starting my acceleration at contact with
the ball and I’m bringing my thumb to my shoulder and I am looking to really
disguise the shot as well so I don’t know if you can tell when I’m doing this
that it is difficult to know exactly what shot it is I’m going to
play.
