Man Utd news: Sky Sports pundit makes Man City and Liverpool top four claim about United

That is according to Sky Sports pundit and former West Ham and Everton striker Tony Cottee  Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho remains confident his side can end the campaign in the Champions League qualification places  The Red Devils are currently eighth in the table after 12 matches, having already notched up four defeats  Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea occupy the top three spots and are all still unbeaten heading into this weekend’s action  Cottee reckons City and Liverpool will finish in the top two come May. But he can see United breaking into the top four if they can put a good run together  “I think it’s realistic,” Cottee said of United’s top-four chances. “I think the players are there  “You just get so much coming out of the club at the minute, so unlike Manchester United  “Normally it’s all kept in house and you don’t hear it, but under Mourinho there just seems to be so many things coming out and so many problems off the field really, as well as on the field  “It’s been a poor start to the season, we all know that. “But Manchester United have enough quality in that team to go on a run of games and if you go six, seven games unbeaten, they will push up towards that top four  “I think most people, myself included, would say Manchester City, Liverpool will be the top two  “But that third and fourth place is going to be open I think for any team to get there in terms of pushing up from the top six or seven  “I think if Manchester United hit a good run of form they can get in there. “I’m not sure they will but if they get that run of form, they’ve got a good chance ” United are back in Premier League action on Saturday when they welcome Crystal Palace to Old Trafford (3pm)
