TODAY LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR ELIZABETH ROBERTS HELPED CUT THE RIBBON FOR THE 92- THOUSAND SQUARE FOOT FACILITY IN THE QUONSET BUSINESS PARK. IT INCLUDES INDOOR SOCCER, FOOTBALL, AND SOFTBALL FIELDS — AND COURTS FOR VOLLEYBALL, BASKETBALL, AND OTHER SPORTS. THE COMPLEX WILL HOST BOTH ADULT AND YOUTH SPORTS LEAGUES — AND EMPLOY MORE THAN EIGHTY WORKERS. IT WAS ALSO THE FIRST PROJECT DEVELOPED UNDER THE QUONSET DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION’S “SITE READINESS” PROGRAM — DESIGNED TO STREAMLINE THE PERMITTING PROCESS FOR NEW BUSINESSES. “This is a gorgeous facility and it’s going to be an amazing resource to this part of the state.” “This will be a place particularly in the winter where people can exercise see each other, it will become a community center in many respects. It’s also going to be a business.
